Softeq Development Corp., as an Arduino system integrator, offers advanced solutions in the industrial field. One of their latest projects involves developing a controller for transporting items using multiple conveyor belts and diverters.
Challenges of Control and Wireless Connectivity
The client required a solution more complex than simple straight-path conveyor control. The system supports multiple conveyor belts working in tandem, setting the stage for future capabilities like transitions between belts and routing items to specific destinations.
- Centralized, reliable control: Developing a controller capable of managing multiple conveyor belts and sensors.
- Wireless connectivity: Avoiding extensive control and sensor cabling in large-scale deployments.
The Arduino Advantage
Arduino® Opta™ WiFi and Arduino® MKR™ WiFi 1010 are at the core of the solution. While Opta WiFi acts as the micro PLC managing sensor inputs and motor power, the MKR WiFi 1010 enables wireless remote control and status updates. These devices eliminated the need for complex custom hardware, simplifying firmware programming. This solution enables wireless control of conveyor belts in large warehouses.
