According to STM, the company will showcase its latest defense technologies and host both national and international drone racing competitions at TEKNOFEST Southeast, held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport from September 30 to October 4.
National Drone Championship & World stage
The Turkish Drone Championship started in Şırnak with 32 pilots and continued in Batman with 24. After eliminations, the best 16 pilots will meet in the final on September 30 at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. The champion will earn the right to represent Türkiye at the World Drone Championship.
On October 1, 32 FPV pilots from 32 countries will line up for the world title. Over four days, pilots will fly:
- their own custom‑built high‑speed FPV racing drones,
- on a demanding track that this year includes moving gates,
- pushing their speed, reaction time and control precision to the limit.
For embedded.az readers, these FPV races are a practical playground for tuning flight controllers, RF links, low‑latency FPV systems, ESCs and lightweight frames.
STM booth and defense tech showcase
At TEKNOFEST, the STM booth will feature models of:
- TCG Istanbul, the 5th ship of Türkiye’s first national frigate program MİLGEM,
- the compact national submarine STM500,
- loitering munition UAV KARGU and reconnaissance UAV TOGAN.
Children visiting the booth will be able to play a “Digital Memory Game” matching warships and UAVs, and turn their dream vehicles into digital designs. Students can fill out a digital skills survey to discover which engineering fields fit them best and learn about career and internship opportunities.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz underlines that supporting young people on their technology journey through competitions like TEKNOFEST is crucial, and invites all young people and their families to join the drone and technology excitement in Şanlıurfa.
