HPMicro has announced the HPM5100 series, a family of 32-bit RISC-V mixed-signal MCUs, with the first parts branded as HPM5151. The chips target designs that need both analog front-end and digital control on a single device.

At the core is a single-core 32-bit RISC-V processor running at 400 MHz, with support for up to 480 MHz in a high-performance mode when an external power supply is used. The CPU includes hardware FPU, SIMD, and DSP instruction support, plus 16 KB L1 instruction cache and 16 KB L1 data cache.

On-chip memory consists of 416 KB SRAM, 256 KB instruction local memory (ILM), and 128 KB data local memory. For analog functionality, the HPM5100 integrates four 16-bit ADCs, four operational amplifiers, and four analog comparators. According to HPMicro, these integrated analog peripherals reduce the need for external ADCs and signal-conditioning circuits.

Connectivity and control peripherals include a high-speed USB 2.0 OTG interface with integrated PHY, CAN FD, and multiple UART/SPI/I2C interfaces. For motor control and other power-stage applications, the MCU provides 32 PWM channels, tied to the RISC-V core’s DSP capabilities for control algorithms.
